Well, they say timing in life is everything.  We were delighted to purchase full Peruvian MA Durango from the Swifts at Mi Madre but, while we were there, we fell hopelessly, head over heels, for MA Accoyo Full Throttle.  His fleece was simply astounding.  We were indeed fortunate that they agreed to let us purchase him as, sadly, his noble sire, Accoyo Wizzard, died during the exchange of contracts.  Ethical breeders, they stood by our agreement, but asked if we could possibly trade breedings at a later date - Great Folks. 

We have done quite a bit of research on bloodlines.  Accoyo Wizzard and Accoyo Misty have had top of the line offspring with ribbons galore, commanding big prices at auction, and we have yet to find a genetic problem - most unusual. 

You may recognize Accoyo Misty from the front cover of AOBA's Alpacas Magazine, the Summer 2006 issue - a beautiful, lustrous, full coverage, helmet-headed girl, showing little sign of her age and bearing the right ear notch mark of Don Julio Barreda's select herd. 

Throttle is big, thick-boned, lustrous, super-fine yet exhibiting superior density.  You need two hands to crack him.  He has phenomenal crimp style and architecture to his fleece.  He is  a total coverage male with a magnificent head, whose quality just screams out "herdsire."  We are a bit nervous about bringing him  out around town as he is literally irreplaceable.  We will get a micron test done after we show his tui fleece and we will keep you updated on the results in preparation for his coming of age celebration.
