We never dreamed of breeding Snowy until research proved to us that Blue-eyed White alpacas (BEWs) are not only an accepted and often unavoidable part of gray-colored programs but are often in demand because, when these girls are bred to solid blacks, they predictably produce gray and black! It isn't hard to imagine, with her black toenails, black eyeliner and palate.

We have always talked about what a sweet, loving mother she would be, since she plays with all of our cria. She is calm, friendly, loves apples and carrots from your hand, and is our farm "greeter."

Cezanne, her sire, who is half Accoyo, was bred six times and gave us FIVE girls. Two we sold and two are in our foundation herd. They all have great bone, are conformationally correct and straight with HUGE fiber coverage averaging between ten and twelve pounds each at annual shearing.

Snowy's four sisters have been easy birthers and great milkers. The newest mom, LWF Pintura, is also a multiple ribbon winner. We expect the same great results with Snowy, who is due in November, 2007. She is bred to our herdsire, Amador with his increasingly hard to find blue-black coloring, taking advantage of those tried and true black and gray Silversmith and Karrington lines on both Amador's and Snowy's dam, Rhapsody's pedigree.

She is the daughter of the famous Desparado, recently sold after many years of service at Maple Brook. We own Snowy's dam, two paternal sister and another true black, half maternal sister, Black Veil, which is why we are considering selling her at all.
