Little Wing Farm is located in the scenic rolling hills of Central Virginia,just ten miles south of Charlottesville, Virginia. The farm is home to twenty plus huacaya alpacas, representing Peruvian , Chilean and Bolivan bloodlines. My husband and I started as caretakers of one of the largest Huacaya alpaca farms on the East Coast. Our employers retired, dispersing their 200 alpacas in 2000, many breeding programs both large and small benefited from this legacy sale.


We got a lot of hands on experience with such a big alpaca herd. Mostly great common sense stuff like patience, observance, etc. but the irreplacable thing was a sense of humour. We learned even more from others, new and established breeders sharing information, wonder, laughs, heartaches and our lives.
